Hi everyone , just become a member , I am needing some answers that I can't seem to find on the cic.gc.ca website. I just get confused. My situation is that I'm a British and Canadian citizen. Living in the U.K. Now. I am just getting through the sponsorship and pr applications and forms. My question is if I continue with the sponsorship in the U.K. Can my boyfriend and I then go to Canada while we wait for the PR? Is it better to wait for PR? Or are we better off both being in Canada before applying for sponsorship and PR? Thank you

You would probably be best to apply for outland spousal sponsorship under common law (assuming you have been living with your partner for at least one year).
I am assuming your boyfriend is a Brit? Once you have applied and obtained spousal sponsorship (the first step), then you 'could' go to Canada, with your boyfriend going under 'dual intent', but this means that he cannot work in Canada until he eventually gets approval, which could take up to one year.
