I have a couple of questions about which answers to give on the cic immigration website for the open work permit profile.
First a bit of background information: I am working in Canada as a foreign skilled worker on a work specific permit. My partner and I have proof that we've lived together for 1 year (invoices of our previous condo with both names for a year). My partner would like to join me in Canada, but is still residing in France to finish her last few months at her job.
Now she is applying online for the open work permit for herself.
1) One question asked: "Will you be coming to Canada with a spouse or common-law partner who is, or will be, working in Canada as a foreign worker or who is, or will be, a full-time student at a university, community college, CEGEP or other authorized educational institution?" Would the the correct answer be "Yes" in this question?
2) Another question asked "Are you accompanying a family member that has status in Canada, or has recently been approved to come to Canada?" We thought, because I am not physically coming into Canada with her we should answer "No" here. Or should it be "yes", because she will be with me in Canada?
3) and final question: While creating the online profile, we at first saw we had to provide proof of relationship, like the common-law form, does this have to be signed by a notary? I am just asking this question just in case.. because this upload field disappeared after a few days.
