hi Folks,
can you please help me with common-law issue, i can't find any helpful information online

I am in common-law relations, my common-law is an international student, graduating this April, will be applying for post graduate work permit.
we have signed common-law declaration, have common lease, accounts, insurance, filled taxes together.

I lost my status, and had to return to my home country,

my questions are,
when my common-law gets pgwp i would like to apply for an open work permit?

Am i eligible?
how we will proof our common law union, as we will be living apart? do we need to sign again common-law declaration?
actually for how long common-law declaration lasts?

thank you in advance

To prove common law, you will have to provide proof that you lived together for a minimum of one full year. The proof you will need to provide are things like joint lease agreements, joint utility bills, statements sent to the same address, etc. A signed common law declaration doesn't prove you have lived togther.

You won't qualify for an open work permit just because your common law partner has obtained a PGWP. In addition to having the PGWP, your partner also needs to have a full time job that is NOC A, B or 0 and must have started that job and be able to provide at least one pay slip.
