Hi, I declared I've been in a previous common law relationship that wasn't (since we didn't live together continuously in one household for 12 months). I declared in my TRV application (after getting my OWP) that I am single at the time but when asked if I had previously been in a common law relationship, I said yes. I am now applying for PR and wanted to clarify that I was single and have never had a common law relationship. I got confused with the definition at the time, since we are still together but I moved out for a few months, which does not complete the 12-month continuous cohabitation requirement for common law partners. What can I do? Would a letter of explanation suffice? Can this be grounds for refusal? I am worried that this counts as misrepresentation.

Why did you answer `yes' if you got `confused with the definition'? That could be a problem, now.

Only you know the correct answer to this very simple question: Have/had you lived together with your partner for 12 months?
