Common law inland sponsorship. Need to go home for brothers wedding in OCT

Hi everyone. My spouse and I submitted a common law sponsorship inland app. I’m a US citizen from New Jersey, my spouse is a canadian citizen. My brother is having his wedding in October and due to covid AOR’s are delayed. My questions are:

1. If I leave Canada for a couple days with my spouse to attend my brothers wedding (assuming the borders are open.) Will my sponsorship application be abandoned?
2. Will my visitor record valid for 1 year be reset and would I have to apply for additional 6 month stay coming back?

Being out of country a couple of days should be fine, and shouldn't affect your 1 year visitor record. Getting back into Canada could be a problem if the current restrictions are still in place in October (likely). Just make sure you have rock solid proof of your common-law relationship when you're returning.

The only problem could be if there are more restrictions on US citizens crossing the border.
