I took a 1-year IT certificate full-time program in an Ontario college in Toronto. The first two four-month semesters were full-time. The third and final four-month semester to make the whole year is Co-op (paid internship).
During my second semester in college, I landed a remote, IT contractor job for a foreign company. I have been working for them remotely since. It is on a per-hour basis, so the workload varies. I can get a full-time 30-hours a week every now and then, but also hit the 10 hours or less a week, so that makes 20 hours a week on average.
Before the co-op semester, I applied and got my co-op work permit, but instead I had to take an extra course (part-time, one 3-hour class per week, for about 16 weeks) to complete my studies. So, no co-op work done but still worked for the foreign company remotely while taking this course. Please note that I was actually a full time student for only 8 months (first two semesters). During the third semester, I was no longer a full-time student, but part-time instead and I have proof.
So, can I claim any points for my EE application for that job, at least from the time I was taking that single part-time course? If anything, would it be Canadian or foreign experience?
