Please i need your help, we got USA visitor visa for me,husband and our one years old child, we want to claim for Asylum in CANADA,can we go to any USA-CANADA border and apply for asylum? or can we have a ticket of USA with transit of CANADA and we claim for Asylum in Canada Airport aftre we miss our flight to USA? we are from Iraq
Unless you have immediate family in Canada, you cannot claim asylum at a USA-Canada border due to the Third Safe Country Agreement. If you want to claim asylum, you will have to do so in the USA since this will be the first safe country you will reach.
You cannot transit through Canada without having a Canadian transit visa. Having a US visitor visa isn't sufficient.
