Citizinship application form: Eligibility Period

Hi,

In the citizenship application form, it mentions Eligibility Period, so my question is it:
(1) 5 years back from the day of signing the application form OR
(2) 5 years after the landing day?

If it is number (1) and I'm applying after being in Canada for three years in a raw, it would mean I will be putting information of 2 years before landing which are not important for the application.

Please let me know what you think.
