Do I really have to stay after renewing my PR card and spend 1095 days again to be able to apply for citizenship?

The requirements for citizenship are not connected in any way to the PR card periods so if you have spent 1095 days in the past 4 years, regardless of whether it is time to renew your PR card or not, you can apply for citizenship.

However, immigration is about to change the citizenship requirements so in the future, you will most likely need 4/6 years in Canada to apply or 1460 days in the past 6 years rather than 1095 in the past 4.
