I’m looking to apply for citizenship next month but will need to leave to go back to England for a while at the start of next year and won’t have an address here.
I saw for PR that people have used a UPS mailbox, wondered if I could use the same for mailing address on citizenship application.
especially when I return back to Canada I am not sure where I will be.

Thanks - the UPS is not a mailbox as such it’s an actual street address. I have seen in other threads that PR cards were mailed to them not a problem, the address is different to a PO Box like which is available from Canada post.
I have a friend but with processing times taking 6 months he may move before then.
what do they actually send through the post if I am doing application online?
I'm in your same situation. Will leave after submitting the application. Due to the long processing time, I'm worried friends may change address or travel.
I'm considering using a lawyer. All correspondence will go through the lawyer. It's a safe and sure legal alternative. A bit more expensive of course.
When using a PO box, how can you check your mail regularly?
There are other services that provide a street address and they scan every mail you get and send a scanned copy to you. Look in my previous posts, one person replied to me with such a link
Anyway, keep updating about what did you find out about the best way to handle the mail when leaving after application. I'll keep watching.
From what I understand the citizenship documents are considered a “package” when mailed - Canada post redirect/mail forwarding will not handle this as I think it is stamped with no redirect or similar.
The UPS below quoted accepts “packages”
With a mailbox at The UPS Store, you get a real street address, not just a P.O. Box number. If you’re a business owner, having a real street address as your mailbox can provide you with a professional image for your business. The UPS Store also offers many additional services that the post office does not, services like package acceptance from all carriers, package notification and Call-in MailCheck®, all aimed to save you valuable time.

I used to ask the ups guy to check the mail once in 2 weeks and they do it as its a private company unlike govt post office. So you can ask them regularly without hesitation. Or you can give key to your friend to check the box.
