Hello all,
I am applying for Citizenship my kid who is PR in Canada and is USA citizen & carry US pp;
(there are pro/cons on taxes or other issues, but) just want to confirm that having USA & Canada passport simultaneously is legal.
thanks a lot ...
Yes - it's certainly legal.
Just make sure the little one files a US tax return and bank account reporting forms when required to later in life.

there is always a choice to give up one of the passport depending on situation

One more question please:
Once I get Canadian passport for my kid (who is US citizen by birth) and has USA pp;
Which passport i need to use while going to USA and what can be used while coming back to Canada? Confused.
Which passport should be used to travel for any other country?
Your suggestions will be helpful...
Thx.
US passport to enter US and Canadian passport to enter Canada, any other country you can use your choice of passport.

I am under impression that passport is scanned for record on border every time, I might be wrong. So if I use US pp to enter US and Canadianfor for Canada, enter exit record of pp would be mismatched..
Is it a concern or my assumption is wrong

Not a concern. Dual citizens do it all the time. Use their own passport to enter each other's country.
Thank u all for ur reply and sharing the knowledge
