Hello Everyone
It has been more than 2 years since I applied for Canadian citizenship, and since then my background check is still pending. I asked my local MP office to inquire about the reason since I have passed the average processing time, they got back to me saying that IRCC is considering your file as non-routine file!! what does that mean? I havent had any issues whatsoever, no criminal offenses, no issues with CRA, nothing. So why is my file considered a non-routine file? is it because of my Muslim background?
Also what should I do in this case? I heard horror stories that some people wait 5-7 years!! should I move to a different province, hire a lawyer, or what?
