Hi there, this is my first post here so, welcome all.
Back in October 2004 I finally obtained my Landed Immigration Visa. I am currently working In the UK and would obviously like to find work back in Ontario.
What I would like to find out is it is possible to commence an application for citizenship, even although I am not currently resident in Canada? Prior to obtaining my LI visa, I had been living in Canada for several years, under student then work visas. CAn this time spent in Canada be used in any way towards a citizenship application?

1. No. It is based on 3 years physical residence in the 4 years pre dating your application. Student/Work counts as 1/2 time to a maximum of a year, but it must be in the 4 years predating the application. Also you have to be resident in Canada to apply. Make sure you meet the residency requirements of your PR status, 2 years in every 5, unless you want to see that disapppear.
