Hi,

So I left Canada about 16 years ago but still have my passport (I'm not resident).
I'm getting married in argentina on March 2nd.
My future wife already has a multiple entry tourist visa in Canada.
The plan is to move to Canada on March 12th.
We already have a place to stay over there and I've already signed a worked contract which is suitable for the sponsoring.

The question is which sponsor process should we go through? inland or outland?
Is it better for me to try to sponsor the wife first before to bring here over?
How long does the process normally last? I think she can get 6 months... is it enough to sort her residency? (I'm trying to avoid having to fly her back and forward between canada and argentina)

Any information will be appreciated

cheers

My concern would be the border, and what would happen if they find out you are moving to Canada. If you can travel to Canada for a "visit" but stay, that might be a better route. Basically, don't make it look like you are moving here.

Once she's in Canada, in your case I'd suggest applying inland. Then, she can immediately apply for the inland spousal work permit which will take care of the status issues.

Alternatively, you can apply outland from Argentina as soon as you are married, and use your work contract and housing as proof you intend to return to Canada. I don't know when you are supposed to start work, but if it's flexible, you can just wait out the process in Argentina. This way you'd not risk having to fly from Canada to Argentina again (which might happen if she requires an interview and you apply outland when in Canada).
