I received a notice for "Request for Documentary Evidence" today (form CIT 0520). My test was on Nov 14th at the Mississauga office, and application was received by CIC late April.
Wanted to ask folks who have been through this for some advice:
1) They're requesting entry-exit records from the UAE (where I travel about once a year to visit family) - anyone on this forum who has obtained these living in Canada?
2) They want employment records - for 2 out of 4 years I was employed by a company and can obtain records, but the other two years I have been self-employed. Any tips on what to send for this period (self-employed) would be much appreciated! I'm guessing things like invoices, bank statements etc?
3) Any idea on processing time once the documents have been submitted?
4) Does it help to send a cover letter with some explanation as well?
Thanks so much, and looking forward to your replies!
1) u need to get the entry exit record from Abu Dhabi because they have access to information from all ports.
2) bring evidence of signed work contracts, invoices, etc...
It is not necessary to go to Abu Dhabi by yourself any friend give it a letter that can authorize the request, but the report in Arabic then be translated in Canada
But I do not know Do you submit only translated version or the original version and translation together
i had similar and i got issued the CIT 0520 after the test requesting Entry/Exit from USA, NOA,... i sent all the documents back in December 21, 2015 still waiting nothing yet, any update from your end?

Hi Jaroddz, Can you please elaborate on the entry/exit details for US request? Did you travel often and what was requested and what did you end up submitting? Thanks
well for the entry/exit (called also record of movement) from USA they didn't ask for a specific document so i end up sending the I94 report (had missing entries) and i requested the FOIA and i sent that as well as soon as i got it.
i was not travelling a lot to US but my family and i have Permanent residency in the US that could trigger that.
Nope, you can ask a friend or relative to do it for you but you have to give the requestor a signed authorization letter so they can obtain the record on your behalf.
