Hi recently CIC announced faster processing times for spouse sponsorship, and that new forms will drop on December 15 to make sponsoring your spouses easier and faster.
Since I had already started everything with old sponsorship forms, my question is if I use those form to apply and I submit it, will it still have the 12 month benefit or does it have to be the new forms?
Are the new processing times better or worse? Is this 12 months what it takes for sure? Or is it possible to get it in less than 12 months still? I've read that Americans average a 6 month wait for Outland sponsorship, just wondering if that will increase or decrease?
American outside is actually 13 months before Dec. 7 on the CIC processing page though people have been getting approved faster than that.
Everything after Dec. 7 is 12 month according to the CIC processing time page. Before Dec. 7 it depends on which country you are applying from. Some have faster some have slower. But they are working to complete all applications before Dec. 7 by the end of Dec 2017.
Will the new applications be faster though is what I am asking? To be more specific, will these applications still get done in less the 12 months CIC is saying it will take? At the moment Americans are getibg PR in 6 months time average(some even less). Are these average times going to increase or decrease?

The new application and process to have inland and outland applications completed within 12 months is entirely new. Like others have said on here, no one really knows the answer to your question and we most likely won't know for at least a few more months until we see how long applications take that are already in process (like mine) and new applications.
