Cic criminality security background check

Hi All,

Will cic do checks in the home country of the applicant even though we submit our police certificate. Also, if gcms says no reportable trace by RCMP, will cic do more checks here in canada? I've seen some comments in the forum where email from cic says security / criminality is ongoing - does this mean cic checks criminality on a daily basis?

Also, if a person travels to a different country after applying, will cic track this and do criminality check there as well?

Most likely, they do the report search for specific applicant names. If similarities are found, they ask for specific police clearance certificate. Which require fingerprints and more thorough database check done by RCMP.

I believe it is up to applicant to provide police clearance certificates. If none are provided and CIC will somehow learn that it was required (I personally think they don't have a lot of options for that though), they will treat it as misrepresenting with known consequences...
