Hello,
I’m an aspirant of Canada federal skilled worker 2012 program.
I currently live in United States and my Work Visa expires in 2 years.
I’m currently not able of make a decision in choosing VISA office and would appreciate any suggestions.
During the last stage of VISA stamping, do we need to get passport stamped in the same VISA office in the application? If I choose Ottawa Office (As buffalo is closed), do we need to get passport stamped "ONLY" in Ottawa? (Or) any other valid VISA offices.
Please suggest.

Indicate the name of the Immigration Office ( Visa Office ) which serves:
your country of nationality,
or
the country in which you are residing, provided that you have been lawfully admitted to that country for at least one year.

Your visa will be stamped on your passport only at the visa processing office.

Thank you very much Wilson
As mentioned earlier, I have valid work permit to stay in United States
But, with Buffalo Office Closed, Do I need to go to Canada (new VISA office) during stamping ?
Please suggest

You cannot choose now Ottawa office for FSW.
The functions of Buffalo office will be taken over by New York office and other Canadian Consulates in USA.

Thank you very much
I was looking into the link mentioned online (List of Visa offices outside Canada) in which Application for Permanent resident Visas for United states is CPP-O
But thanks for your updates, and I will send the application to New York

You are welcome. FSW application package should be sent to CIO Sydney, NS and they will transfer your file to the visa office. Check the procedure for FSW applications.

Going by ur name , you seems to be from India.

If you are then you have the option to choose your visa Office , you can either choose new Delhi or NY.

You need to consider processing times of both the visa offices before choosing it

Yes I'm from India currently working in United States
As mentioned earlier, I'm confused whether to apply in United States (or) New Delhi
If I apply in New Delhi, looking into posts, it might take 2-3 to get the passport stamped in final stages and it is difficult to take vacation at work for long period.
With Buffalo office closed, my understanding is application will be processed in CPP Ottawa (Please find attached text from CIC Website in green)
So, if the applications are processed in Ottawa, anyways I need to travel outside United States to get my passport stamped.
and looking into CIC Website NY only accepts Applications for Temporary Resident Visas, Study Permits or Work Permits ONLY.
So, I'm little confused where to apply....

Case Processing Pilot, Ottawa

CPP Ottawa processes:

temporary resident visa applications from within Canada for applicants with valid status (student or temporary foreign workers only), and
permanent resident visa applications from the United States and Canada after they have been pre-screened by CPC-Mississauga or CIO-Sydney.

No, you will not have to leave the US. They will ask you to mail your passport with a return envelope. Your visa office will be CPP-O but you still have to mail the application to CIO in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Read the guide for more information.

Thanks...
But I heard it is not allowed to post the passport to different country.
If I live in USA, I cannot ship the passport to CPP-O (Ontario, Canada)

How do you imagine those of us in Canada did it when the Buffalo office was still open? We mailed our passports there by courier and tracked the package until it was delivered and returned to us. You will receive instructions when you get to that stage....so relax.
