I am just wondering if anyone has chosen a different location from the original plan outlined to CIC and if this impacts anything at all?

We prefer Toronto for job opportunities, as is our primary plan. However, I am concerned about potentially wanting to be closer to family (in BC), due to corona virus and potential travel limitations in the future.

If you are family sponsorship, no impact or issues except for Québec.

Would we need to update CIC at all, if we change our plan in this case?

It doesn't seem to be a listed issue in th IRCC webform:

If you are citizen and returning though since you provided info about your intention to return and they will evaluate that as well, may make sense to inform - but in my view only once you have some specific info to communicate (job offer, place to live - for example).
