Child Tax Benefit - Question

So we just arrived here last year , we applied for child tax benefit , and both my wife and I filed for Taxes , and we applied for child tax benefit last year , and we received the payments , do we need to apply again this year , or will we receive the payment automatically if we filed out income tax?
