Child on TRP needs to travel out of Canada and re-enter

1 year old child is on TRP in Canada. Mother is PR holder and child was born outside Canada. Child and father were given TRP to enter and remain in Canada until Jan 2012. Husband and child's PR application is in process in Vegreville. Now child needs to travel with mother on an urgent family matter outside Canada for a month. But the TRP does not allow re-entry. Is there a way we can apply some kind of travel doc for the child to return to Canada? Or may be another TRP? Anyone please share your experience. Thanks.
