Hi Friends

Please help me with this situation. Myself, my husband and our first child got PR in 2018, we landed Canada in June 2018, stayed for 1month and came back to Bangladesh. Later I got pregnant here and due to some travel restrictions during pregnancy period and family issues, I could not move to Canada in last 2.5 years. Now my second child is 14months old now and I want to move to Canada and settle there. Wanted to know as to what will be the procedure of taking the second child along with us? I am afraid, we have already been out of Canada for almost 2 years after getting the PR, is there any chance this to be rejected as a whole?

It is not possible to keep the second one here and go to Canada and then apply for her sponsorship… is there any other way?
Please suggest, what are my options.

Regards..
Anika

You or your spouse must be in Canada and compliant with your RO to sponsor your child. You can attempt to apply for a TRV for your child as a first step. If denied you can attempt for a TRP. If denied again your only option would be for a parent to sponsor the child while in Canada. Because of covid processing times are longer than normal and some offices are not open for stamping. You are also under pressure since you need to consider your residency obligations. Processing times for PR will also be likely longer than the typical 5-11 months. In most provinces your child will not be entitled to health coverage so you will have to purchase a private policy.

So you have 2 children who are foreign nationals and not PR of Canada. You have to be in Canada to sponsor them and so you will need to apply for TRVs for your children to bring them with you to Canada, and then sponsor them for PR.

1st child is a PR.
