My child was born in India. And we've received our visa letter. But says nothing about the child's passport. So will the just put his visa on my wife's passport and give some documents or will the make him a passport ?

You need to inform CIC of your new born kid, and don't use the current COPR to land. CIC will require you to update your form to list your new born as either accompany or non accompany dependent, ask for his/her passport and require your new born to do the medical, if everything is OK, then CIC will reissue another COPR to you that includes your new born in it.

You must get your child his own passport first. Then you need to add your child to your own PR app, have him do an infant medical exam if requested, and he will also get COPR/PR visa put into his own passport along with the new ones you need to get.
