Guys,

I have tried to figure out from the CIC website whether i can check the status of my FSW application. I resent a returned application sometime around mid september and i have heard nothing, no acknowledgement of receipt. My question is, how do i check the status online if i dont have any reference numbers or is the online status check for the second phase only, i.e. London in my case?

Would really appreciate some help on this, getting anxious...

Thank you Pasi for the reply, does this reference number come as soon as the CIC receive an application or only when they have processed it?

Well we received bad news on 26 November, our application was rejected as the asseser was not satisfied that I had sufficient experience under NOC 0213. Gutted...

buddingmapleleaf, when was your application received by CIO Sydney? I am also a Sep applicant and haven't heard anything yet. So, trying to find out whether mine has been processed yet or not.

Dear,

Sorry to hear that. Can u post the scoring as reflected in that letter, we might try to advice u how to better it and Reapply.

Regards.

Hi Qorax,

Thanks for your interest. I don't see a score in the email i received but the following explanation was given:

"...You have indicated that you have work experience in an occupation with the following NOC code: 0213- Software Engineer. Although this NOC code corresponds to the occupations specified in the instructions identified by the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism and published in the Canada Gazette on 28 November 2008, the main duties that you have listed do not indicate that you performed a substantial number of the main duties of the occupation as set out in the occupational description of the NOC, including all of the essential duties. As such, I am not satisfied that your experience corresponds to NOC 0213- Computer and Information Systems Managers....."

Hello buddingmapleaf,

Can you please share the roles and responsibilities that you mentioned in your experience letter. I have also applied under 0213 and waiting for my AOR. Your response will be highly valuable to all of us who have applied under 0213.

Thanks

Hi simsinghgill,

I am a little uncomfortable with sharing too much of my application details however I do also wish to help. My advice is that if you do not meet all of the required responsibilities under NOC 0213 then there is a chance you will not get accepted. Maybe I was too honest in my application but I would prefer to be honest than to have that bite me in the ass at a later stage.

Good luck with your application and another piece of advice i would give you is have a plan B if your application is not accepted, I am now having to research other options, doing this earlier would have saved me alot of time.

It seems that there is mismatch job title already
your NOC 0213 -software engineer
but
NOC 0213 is for computer/Information Systems Manager

Also Are your duties more in line with those of software engineer? If so, that probably is the reason of rejection.

Job Specifications mentioned in your particular NOC should at least have a 75% match with your current responsibilities .. i guess you have already experienced what happens otherwise.
