If you already have an application at our office, we will answer your question only if our average processing time has been exceeded or if there is a problem. Otherwise, you should assume that your file is proceeding normally. Processing time starts when your complete application has been received in our office and ends on the day the final decision (i.e. approval/refusal) leaves our office.
and before that
In order to best use our resources, we will not confirm whether we have received your documents
So should we make an inquiry or settle with the fact that everyone is on the same boat and we'll hear about it eventually ... cause they take a long time to respond ... I guess we'll have our 2nd Aor before that

Hi Positron, Please join the other thread on same subject. By the way regarding ur question, my status has been changed to "received by visa office". I sent a case specific inquiry on 28th July & got a reply on 13th August; that my docs have been received.
i advise you to have patience , i am Pakistani residing in Kuwait, and my time line is going fine... what i have analyzed they have a system when ever they are receiving applications they are updating data and the system automatically defines due date or necessary action.... if you have submitted your full documents on 27 may (let us say) you should not here from them for 90 days so your application status will automatically changed to "In Process"
and it will pop up to the VO ... he will review application and if he / she needs additional documents he will write u a letter and again you have to submit these documents in 60 days and after submitting additional documents you application will be back to pool of 90 days ... this is how it works..
and next step will be medical which varies... case to case thanks....
