Charitable Work Permit Extension

I have been working in Canada for an 8 months contract on a Charitable Work Permit. My employer has a 3 months shutdown for winter, and during that time there is no work. After three months shutdown I am willing to come back for another 8 months contract on a Charitable Working Permit as well. I am wondering if it is possible to extend my current permit to next year through the 3 months shutdown period so that I could stay as a resident of the camp where I have been working at even for the off season when I am not working also without making a new contract for next year and keep the current one.
