Changing university after visa being issued

Hi,

Has anyone managed to do this successfully? As per the CIC site, the process is as follows:

Changing institution at the post-secondary level

If you applied for a study permit to attend a post-secondary institution after June 1, 2014, you must notify Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) via your MyCIC account every time you change institutions. You are not required to apply for a new study permit when changing institutions that are at the same level of study (e.g., from a college to a university).

For example, you must notify CIC if you submit a letter of acceptance from the University of Ottawa when you apply for your study permit but then transfer to Carleton University once you arrive in Canada.

You are not required to notify CIC when you change institution if:

you applied for a study permit prior to June 1, 2014;
you were issued a study permit to attend an institution at the primary or secondary level; or
you obtained a study permit as the family member of a study or work permit holder (i.e., you were not required to submit a letter of acceptance when applying for a study permit).

I informed to change my college through mycic. You can do the same thing.

You should create a my cic account . There is a option tranferring designated inst. , you can click there and follow the instructions .

You must inform CIC , if you changed your college / uni , as it can create you problem if you re-enter canada anytime .

You can also inform them by calling cic directly .

Note :- You must have an offer letter from changed college before informing CIC.

They can informed to CIC with conditional letter, too. In my case, I have to appear an admission test due to different education system and unrecognized my transcript. So, full time of letter is holding at that moment. The admission result will take weeks. I think, it is better to inform as soon as possible, if they cancel their school. It only allow staying in Canada within 90 days without study. Once, they informed changed school, they can stay in Canada until starting school.

1. Tell us about the application
2. Biographic Info
3. Information about the applicant's study in Canada

You have to call to CIC in directly. Did you apply a study permit by online? If not.. you must call to CIC

Changing program is ok ... but you can still inform cic about the change by calling them...

If you put the information right and it's not coming up . You should call to CIC directly.

I am not sure what your situation is. Mycic always work both outside of Canada and inside Canada.
If you apply based on papers, it could be different case. However, if you apply by online before, it should be work through mycic system.
Study permit is open for post - secondary school level, so there is no school name for their study permit.

i applied for visa with paper based application not online, i got letter of introduction not study permit yet as i will be arriving Canada in the mid of July.
