changing of program

I am in Sheridan college and i came in jan intake taking chemical laboratory technician but now i am unable to pass even my first semester because it is very difficult to pass,now i am planning to change my course but i am getting a course in September intake in sheridan college not in may intake so should i take a drop in second semester or waste my fees of second semester?
