Hi,
My current Single Entry tourist visa for Canada Expires on 11-March-2013. My travel plans got changed and I will be travelling only on March 10th 2013 and would have to stay there till March 23rd. I live in US currently on work visa and would be travelling from US
Would I be able to extend my visa after I reach Canada on March 10th or extend it at port of entry after showing my return ticket ?
Appreciate your help on this. let me know what options i will have.

Duration of stay is not decided at port of entry. Expiry date is by when you should leave Canada. But if you can file your extension before the date of expiry you will go on implied status and you can stay in Canada on the same terms until you are granted or denied an extension.
I have one last question. I have registered to CIC Online Services, it looks like extension can be done online. Is this something that I can do it now or only when I am in Canada.
I am travelling 1 day before my visa expires, not sure if I can do it online or need to do it in person. I have read somewhere that extension need to be done 30 days before visa expiry, I think that is not true in this case.
When you apply for extension of stay if through paper application it will take 114 working days so it means you have to apply 4mos before it expire but through online 66 working days days so approximately 3mos before the expiration. You can double check online and click on processing time. Hope this will help for you to be guided accordingly.
