Hey guys, how do I update my address with CIC?? I have tried updating through the ECAS many times but it is still not updated. It's been more than 2 months since I moved into my new address and the first time I tried to update my address was on the day I moved. I tried calling CIC but they won't tell me what's going on, they won't update my address for me and kept telling me to do it online which also doesn't work. Does anybody know how I can change my address? This is SOOO frustrating as I could change my address immediately with the bank, BC Hydro, phone service provider etc. But CIC!?!?
strangely enough, if you look on CIC's website, there is a page with instructions on how to change your address (including online, and no, it cannot go through e-cas).

And strangely enough, that's exactly how I tried to change my address and I realized it brings you to the same page as the ECAS one. I even emailed them with all the required information but I got no replies.
Thanks for the information! Wow....3 months just for a simple address change eh? This is super ridiculous considering how other big organizations or government agencies can update your new address immediately.

The online address update section in ECAS is only when you are moving WITHIN Canada. If you are moving out of Canada, you need to sent the mail to the respective Immigration office where your case is being processed for address change.
I am a September applicant and my address change was done within 2 weeks. My friend had sent his change of address 2 months ago and hasn't still got it updated because 1) He is an October applicant. So it's my assumption that they would change the address when its close to start of processing of his application. 2) He sent the change of address mail to sydney office while his case is being processed in Ottawa. So they replied to him recently to send it to the Ottawa email address.
The Fastest way to change address irrespective of whether or not you are in canada or not is by simply quoting you rapplication number and UCI and send an email to CPC-OTTAWA email address and infrom them of your new complete postal address.
This is the only way for out of canada address changes. I used this to change my address from Canada to INDIA. it got updated within 10 working days.
