I'm currently living with my parents awaiting the closing of mine and my husbands condo, will be happening mid June!
Do I need to update my address even though my parents will still be living at the address I used on the application?
I would hate to slow down anything by changing any information so if I could just go about my business and not inform them of the address change that would be great.
I will do it of course if consensus says its recommended.
CIC recommends you to notify them of the change your Mailing Address.
Personal experience... I didn't notify CIC of change of my US address. My lease ended while PR was still processing. I stayed with (VISITED) my husband in Canada till my PPR. I moved my stuff in US to my friend's and have mails forwarded using USPS's service. I didn't notify CIC of change of my address because: 1) all my correspondences from CIC were via emails so far, 2) my friend was looking out mails for me, 3) I no longer worked in US so I don't want CIC to have any thought about transferring my application to my home country, 4) personally policy was to not contact CIC unneccessarily, though I reserved my change of address as a reserved excuse in case I didn't hear from CIC for an extended period of time, in order to prompt them for giving me updates.
I am quite a similar situation like you. I am the sponsor. I am moving in another City in Ontario from August 1. Singapore is processing my spouse's PR application from April 10,2012. I don't know how long it may take as Singapore has long processing time. Do you guys think I should update CIC my new address? Or Can I keep this address? If I change my address will it delay my husband's processing? Please give me your opinion.
Thanks
I was worried that I'd have to submit a change of address because CIC-M received my app on April 13, 2012 and my current rental contract expires on Feb 28, 2013. Just spoke to the landlord and she was super cool and said that we can stay until we get the visa!
Normally after sponsorship approval, all communication are sent to the primary applicant's email or mailing address.
Personally I don't think changing sponsor's address is going to impact the PA's processing unless you're moving into/out of Quebec.
