Hello everybody, this isn't a really specific question so i decided to ask it here.
I wish to immigrate to Canada,to be more specific in Vancouver as i have family there.Problem is i can't apply under Federal skilled worker as my work experience is not in the list.
So i was thinking of going through the foreign worker route.I'm a web developer/web designer with good experience and a good portfolio, and a Bachelor's degree in computer science.
But as i understand the employer has to prove they couldn't find a Canadian citizen to fill the job, which in this economy sounds impossible. I see a lot of job search tools listed, and even jobs in my field, but does employment of foreigners actually happen?
So the question is, in your opinion, do i have a chance of coming to Canada this route or do i have to start working in one of the skilled worker fields for at least a year?
Thank you.

The employer must prepare a Labor Market Opinion (LMO) to demonstrate that you are the one, so to speak. Now, this can be any business pertaining to your skills (not necessarily related to your education, e.g. you could work as a manager for a sushi bar). Thus, collect your skills and think on what LMO could be best prepared by potential employers and in what city of British Columbia. Don't limit yourself only to Vancouver -- if you want to immigrate to Canada, then think of all opportunities. Your potential employer should read this: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/hire/index.asp/.
