Would request you all to share your experience in pursuing CGA or CA course in Canada.
How is the job market, does canada education (pursuing course) count or only reference work for getting job ?
I have completed medical and waiting for PPR (under FSW). Have 1 or 2 year to plan for CGA course. I have completed bachelors (B.Com) + CA (inter) + pursuing ACCA.
Would like to know exemptions in CGA and when the exams are held
If you're a CA in India and have at least 3 years of experience you can write CA qualifying exams in your province and become a CA in Canada then and there. But wait until all these accounting bodies churning their unification wrap up their confusions. Then you would be up for the only existing accounting designation in Canada, the CPA. It would be wise to decide then. Working your butt off on a CA/CGA and then find out CPA is a lot more easier and equivalent to your designation can be disappointing.
Accounting jobs are ok (better than others) if you're not so stuck up with specific pay. Bookkeeping jobs are everywhere to start with. Communications skill and Canadian experience are important in getting better accounting/finance related jobs. If you can justify through technical jargons how you're qualified, you should succeed with little initial struggle!
