Hi all,
Would request you all to share your experience in pursuing CGA or CA course in Canada.
How is the job market, does canada education (pursuing course) count or only reference work for getting job ?
I have completed medical and waiting for PPR (under FSW). Have 1 or 2 year to plan for CGA course. I have completed bachelors (B.Com) + CA (inter) + pursuing ACCA.
Would like to know exemptions in CGA and when the exams are held
Regards
Cool
Check you inbox mate

again sent u PM.....pls check

Coolguy, you are right , once you register with cga and are at pace level , you will start getting job offers, but make it a point that you study here relevant softwares like simply accounting, caseware, and or Accpac, Jd edwards , great plains... as all companies use softwares here. Another important thing is that you should try to build connections here, if you already have friends and relatives at good positions in accounting, than surely life will be easier for you.
Thanks a ton singh.....currently I am on Oracle from last 7 to 8 years
Hope companies using Oracle also will be there in Canada

Anybody know about getting CGA after ACCA ?
I am ACCA affiliate 3 month away form Membership
Oracle is very good, you are in luck @coolguy.
Jazzy world, once you are ACCA, just give two review exams ( law and tax) and boom you become CGA here in Canada ( You wont even need experience in Canada) . I think Acca is quickest possible route for you to get cga designation. Cheers

You need to be a full member of ACCA. Once you are the full member.
You need a Bachelors degree and submit your application to CGA Canada. You cant simply get CGA with ACCA Membership. You must have a bachelors degree inorder to get CGA.
thanks a ton buddy.......

Correction = ACCA + 3 years Recognised experieince to be become a ACCA Member.
You must be a MEMBER. not Affiliate or Student.
Secondly must have bachelors degree.
Yeah Wjaz is right. I assumed Coolguy that you have bachelors degree already. Yes, Bachelors degree is essential in order to gain membership As CGA. As regards Experience, you obviously become ACCA only if you have required experience. But the Good thing is that you dont need to get Canadian experience to have CGa if you are ACCA member. Most of people, from other countries without ACCA designation, have to face really difficult time to get SENIOR level Accounting experience in order to get CGA, which is not easy task when you are coming from foreign country as jobs at senior level can be achieved after many years of Canadian experience. So in my view ACCA is quickest possible route. Cheers
Yes, I have bachelor degree

Brother, Do keep in mind they accept bachelors Degree from UK, Australia, europe (for 3 years).
Else it has to be 4 years Undergrad. Please contact CGA and ask them will they accept yours Bachelors. Its better to know right now.
I have bachelors (mumbai - india) with 3 yrs
Completed CA intermediate and pursuing ACCA (6 papers pending)
Any idea how much exemptions I can get for all this education ?
