Hello, I’m planning to apply for PR and am confused whether to appear for CELPIP or IELTS. Is there more weightage for CELPIP since it’s specifically for Canada ?
Please suggest.
For IRCC they don't care which one you take. I would suggest taking the practise test for both to see which one you feel more comfortable with. I personally took CELPIP, I'm an American so I'm more comfortable with Canadian English than I am with British/Aussie English.

If you are non native speaker, I would recommend IELTS. Lots of material.
Complete official IELTS books. Take YouTube lessons for writing. Have someone review it. Watch lots of video for speaking. Joining local training Institute with good track record would help to know the tips and tricks.
