Hello I wanna take the english exam to get my points of language for the EE, I would like to know according to you and your experience which one is easier the CELPIP or the IELTS, what are the differences between both of them???? and I guess the CELPIP is cheaper, and deliver the result faster than the IELTS??? thanks..
In my experience CELPIP is way easier and relaxed than IELTS.. I didn't prepare at all (I mean nothing) and I got decent scores.
I think CELPIP is little easier than IELTS. but I also got a question, what score in CELPIP is equivalent to CLB7?
and what about the delivery time of the scores?
I guess, you can see your score online in 8 business days and they post your hard copy shortly after that.

It depends on where u live. CELPIP can only be taken in canada while IELTS can be taken anywhere. So if u are in canada, i will advice u take celpip. but if u are outside of canada then ielts is best. tanx

celpip level 7 is d same as CLB 7.
CELPIP is easier and smarter than IELTS. if you are a computer guy then CELPIP is the best instead writing in paper.
but in CELPIP Speaking would be tough in time management. I tried 2 times IELTS and 1 time CELPIP for my PR and I will say CELPIP is better.
It depends on personal preferences IMO. To myself, IELTS is better mostly because the speaking section involves talking to a real person, while CELPIP is a recording. I have taken TOEFL (which uses the recordings as well) and I don't feel comfortable.
IELTS listening section is in British accents and CELPIP is Canadian. For some, this might be a decision point.
IELTS should have the result in 14 days, plus few more days to mail the official report card. I think they are the same price? (Last check in Aug it was both $300)

I just finished a sixteen months long MBA in one of the best universities in Canada. If the MBA were eighteen months long, I would have been exempted from the English proficiency test. My overall GPA at the MBA was 3.88, and I was the Class President. Please notice that, to get accepted on this MBA, you have to get more than 7.5-7.5-7.5-7.5 equivalent on IELTS, what I did before coming to Canada sixteen months ago (TOEFL 29-28-28-27 | R-L-W-S).
I took the CELPIP two times, getting 12-12-8-7 and 12-12-8-8 (L-R-W-S). On the second time, I ordered a reevaluation for the Writing and Speaking, but nothing changed. I found the whole situation very weird and decided to do some research about it.
When I shared my situation with my MBA Cohort, I found out that almost every non-Canadian graduate had the same issue (more than ten other people that also completed a Master Degree here in Toronto).
One of my friends in a very similar situation took the IELTS two weeks after getting 12-12-9-8 on the CELPIP and got 8,5-8,5-7,5-8,5 (L-R-W-S) on IELTS. Hence, I decided to go for the IELTS and warn people out to prepare for the IELTS from the beginning and avoid all this nonsense/expenses we've been experiencing with the CELPIP. All the best!! Peter
