Forgive me if this is asked elsewhere - please direct me if my answer is already found somewhere! I'll make it as short as I can.

I have 425 points and just got ITA under FSW. I don't have the full amount of funds. I have a full-time permanent job offer (skilled, B category) beginning in a few days and I was hoping after a year I'd get ITA under CEC and avoid the proof of funds situation. The thing is, it's also my birthday in a few days and I'll be 33. My points will drop to 419 then. I'm afraid if I reject the FSW I won't get ITA again (I might get OINP, but it's not a certainty) under FSW (once I save enough money) or CEC.

What are my options? I can't increase my score by more than a few points, and that's by learning French (my IELTS scores are at a max, I'm a native speaker). Could I borrow the money and get an affidavit saying it's a 'gift'? Should I just see an immigration lawyer? I wasn't expecting to get ITA yet and didn't think I'd be in this position.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you calculated your score with a year of Canadian work experience? even with the points lost from age your score should still end up being higher.

Unless you can get a gift from a family member or you have any assets that you can sell, it seems you would have to reject your ITA.

you are safe man
cic website mentions that if you apply inland under FSW category and if you have a valid job offer full time
you dont have to show POF
you are safe
upload offer letter and a pay stub and that is more than enough

Oh, what an obvious mistake to make! Thank you. Yes, I'd be at 479. So in theory I should be okay to reject this now and get an ITA again next year, under either stream, once I have my savings (no assets to sell, unfortunately).

Is this the part of the site you're talking about? (I forgot I can't post links! It's english/immigrate/skilled/funds on the CIC site) I read that as applying only to FSW rather than CEC.

That is not correct. Unless the applicant is a CEC or have LMO then the applicant must show the funds.
check these links:
In this link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp says that:

1. You don’t need to show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family to meet the program requirements of the Canadian Experience Class (this includes provincial nominees who are part of the CEC stream).
2. Note that this does not apply if you are currently authorized to work in Canada and have a valid job offer.

Valid Job offer definition according to CIC: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/offer.asp
1. the employer making you the job offer has a new positive Labour Market Impact Assessment from Employment and Social Development Canada that approves the offer and names you and your position
2. you are currently working in Canada in a NOC 0, A or B job on a work permit that was issued based on a Labour Market Impact Assessment, and....
3. you have a valid work permit for a NOC 0, A or B job that is exempt from needing an LMIA, and you:
-have one year of full-time work experience (or an equal amount of part-time work) for that employer and
-have a valid job offer from that employer for at least one year after we issue your permanent resident visa.
