I have finally received my ITA, and I am preparing my application to submit.
I noticed that I had indicated that I have a nickname/alias that I use when I created my EE profile. This is because I have used my English name at workplace and at the university. The university provided me an option to use a preferred name, which is what I exactly did.
Some documents such as my final transcript, pay stubs, and job offer letter have my English first name on it, which is Cassie. My last name across all the documents are my legal Japanese last name which is on my passport.
In detail,
1. my academic transcript has "Cassie Hashixxxxxxx" on it.
2. my letter of employment has "Satomi (Cassie) Hashixxxxxxx" on it.
3. my job offer letter has "Cassie Hashixxxxxxxx" on it.
I have read some other posts which suggested to include LOE. Do you think a LOE would be enough in this case?
No, I haven't submitted my application yet. I just received ITA today.
Since many of my documents that I am going to submit have my English name on it, I think it is a good idea for me to write a LOE to clarify any possible confusions that the officer may have.
When you complete the post-ITA info and get to the document checklist, you'll be asked to provide documentary evidence of your name change. That's where you can upload a note explaining that your nickname is the name you use 'in English' in various situations.

You won't be able to complete your application unless you upload something into that slot so yes, I think it's not only a good idea, but there's no way around it.
