Newbie here. I was just wondering if someone can help me on what to do.
I am an artist (performing artist) on tour working for a big Canadian company.
I am not physically in Canada at the moment as I stated above that I am on tour, performing. Traveling and performing around the globe.
I've been in the company for 2 1/2 yrs now.I also have a family but they're not with me on tour and my wife doesn't work in the same company as mine. They're home in Europe.
My family and I would really like to migrate here in Canada.
I've been told by some friends to go by CEC.
what are the necessary steps for us to take? and how much will it cost?
My wife and I are both artists (ballet dancers) and we have an infant.
will it really help if we apply with the help of a lawyer? or just by ourselves?
thanks in advance and hope to hear from one of you guys.
To qualify for CEC, you must have two years of full time paid work experience in Canada. Have at least 2 out of your 2 1/2 years been spent working in Canada itself?
1 year physically in Canada. 1 1/2 outside of Canada but 2 1/2 years with a Canadian company and 2 1/2 years paying canadian tax. but I'm still subjected to Canadian law as I work for a canadian company. It's not my fault that they sent me on tour to promote the company.

If you are technically self-employed, you could apply under this program -
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/business/self-employed/apply-who.asp#criteria
Depending on the province in which the company is located, you might be able to apply through the PNP program -
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/provincial/index.asp
You should note, however, if you successfully obtain PR status, you must be physically present in Canada for 3 out of 5 years to keep it.
