CEC Eligiblity -

Hi,

I was going through the eligiblity criteria for the CEC application, and needed to know if I would be still be eligible to apply. ( I understand i might be running out of time here in my case)

Worked in Toronto - May2011 to July 2012 ( 1 year 2 months) in a closed work permit.

Is it possible that i have time till July 2014 to apply under CEC.

The law says you must

•have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equal amount in part-time) skilled work experience in Canada in the ""THREE YEARS"" before you apply,

Yes, that's correct .

SoI am hoping that the experience from July 2011 to July 2012 ( Full time - exp under NOC 2171) would be considered and I might have time provided my application reaches the CIC office before 30 July 2014. ( which is 3 years )..an you please advice if this is correct understanding .

You should be fine because it still falls within the last 3 years.. until July 30th like you said.. but you are pushing it though. why wait till the last minute. Also, I hope you have your English test ready to be sent! Sometimes you cant get a spot immediately...

I think the big questions is - have you written the IELT General test yet? If you have and have the results of the test, you should have time to apply. If you haven't written the test, then you may not have enough time to write it and get the results before your experience becomes too old.

yes, IELTS was completed in April itself. I just had this question on the back of my mind. Though of asking before sending the application. Thanks for clarifying.

The application has been sent . Keeping fingers crossed.

I am kind of in the same boat as you....My experience is from march 2010 - august 2012 (So only 2011 august to august 2012 will count)...sending my application on Monday...just waiting to get my credit payment together.
