I'm a Canadian citizen, my wife was waiting for sponsorship during covid, my 2 kids were born outside and got automatic citizenship while in foreign country because of me being citizen. My wife and kids finally came to canada in November. 2021, .my question is how does CCB will be calculated? From the day they were born in different country or the day my wife became PR, started living in canada with kids? Meanwhile I'm citizen and been working in Canada paying taxes. Please explain briefly, as I'm confused.

You only qualify for CCB if your children are living with the CCB recipient in Canada.

But my children were given Canadian citizenship at birth in a foreign country? They were living with a mother who was in the process of spouse sponsorship, and i was employed in Canada, was providing all the financial support to the kids.

CCB is meant to help with the high costs of raising children in Canada not abroad.

Im sorry but you lack knowledge in this matter, thanx for your kind reply. Im looking for an answer from someone who share the same situation. Not someone who is a VIP on canadavisa.com.

Having your child in Canada with you is part of the CCB requirements. Easy to find the information online. Have given you correct information.

LOL. I never comment on here but this issue knocked me off my feet. You are telling someone they have no knowledge because they didn't say what you wanted to hear? Or because the truth was not in your favour?But this is common sense. Why would the govt pay you for kids that weren't living in Canada at the time?

You did not live with the child those periods
You were not primarily responsible for their upbringing at that time
