Hey there
my Sponsor approved, application transferred to KG. I was hoping someone can tell me how long it takes in Kingston to hear some good news back? I am hoping 3 months, I have notice the processing time in Canada has dropped a lot in the last couple of weeks and I am hoping that Kingston is the same but not updated. Has any of your husband have come across from Jamaica as of yet?
We have been together since 2008 and got married Jan 2012. I sent in our application in June it was return because 1 form was changed, sent back in Sept 2012 and just got approved Nov 3, 2012. The email says it will be sent to kingston I am thinking it will be 2 week to get there. I just looking for a outline of how long I am looking at?

Hey! I would advise to post your question in the Kingston thread, where people will have more of an idea how long you have to wait... http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/kingstonjamaica-t29680.22110.html
Unfortunately the shortening of first stage doesn't mean much for stage 2 - at least it doesn't seem so...
Good luck,
Sweden
Note that being visa exempt country surely is not a downfall, plus flights are cheep (comparatively), and time zones relatively close.
Lots of us really have to wait....as in no possibility for seeing each other until work allows for holidays....and/or budgets allow for 1.5K plus flight costs.
It may not be the best scenario....planning long weekends and such, but at least it's something...
On another note......the percentage times are inclusive of previous, and the bottom tier of 20% does not reflect only the refusals. This can be determined by downloading the spreadsheet from website and using the built in filters to determine percentage acceptance and refusals.....filter by people as compared to applications....etc etc....
there is a ton of information on that sheet if used to full potential....and for my case....Manila.....it shows the vast majority as in upwards of 95% of all applications accepted, and also the majority of "long" applications are those containing more than one person for sponsorship....as in, spouse and children etc.
I encourage everyone to download and play with the sheets and filters to give them some ease...considering 95% of 2261 cases, and 30% done in 4 months (for manila)....compared to the majority of slower "complicated" applications....I'm surely at ease now.
I uploaded a copy of the sheet for your viewing and/or downloading pleasure:
