I have applied on paper for my BOWP, i was approved for PR, and landed on 27th April.

It might have already been approved, but you won't see the status in MyCIC. Call CIC to make sure it hasn't. Lately, they have been throwing visas at PR applicants who were close to the finish line or already got their PR. ;D

It doesn't matter really, after you get your PR status all the Canadian issued visas become void automatically. Cancelation is easy though, call CIC and they will do it.

Agree with rezafe, once you completed landing formalities, then all your permits will becomes invalid. You can call them to cancel you BOWP in order to recieve Refund back.
Thanks, i have called CIC. To all you who have applied on paper, make sure you have, receipt number, and post tracking number.
I phoned CIC today to cancel my application too, as I don't need the permit. The agent said they will send me a cheque. Yay! Some money back from CIC for a change! I only needed my UCI and the agent was able to look it up for me.
For those who applied on paper, have your UCI and receipts with you when calling.
