I am Canadian and I am the primary sponsor to my husband who is Belgian. It's almost been 5 months since we sent our application to CIC (Canada to Belgium process time is 8 months). Recently, I found out that I am pregnant.. With poor support here in Canada, I am in a lot of stress dealing with my pregnancy. Worried for my health and my baby's health, some co-workers suggested I email the Visa Office in France to report my pregnancy and my current situation.
My questions are:
- Does reporting my pregnant help expedite the process of the application?
- What is the worst that can happen if I do report my situation?
- Did anyone ever did this or heard of someone do this (I have)? And does it actually work?
Please answer if you know!
Thank you and good luck to all of you!
Nothing will happen if you report your pregnancy. It's not required, and they won't expedite the app because of it. Although you can certainly tell the visa office if you want to as the "worst" that can happen, is it will have no effect.

I would suggest that you talk to your MP about your need for your husband in your pregnancy,
he may send a letter to the minister of immigration to consider speeding your husband application,
The MP also have the option to enquire to Vienna Visa office about what is the status of your husband application and explain
that you are pregnant in Canada with need of your husband by your side. It is up to Vienna Visa office
to respond positively to the communication from your MP, but you need to make your move, and hope for the best
