Canadian Resident - attending school in US- Peruvian wife??

My son is a Canadian citizen who goes to a university in the US on a international student visa. He resides in the US because of it, but isn’t considered a resident of the United States, just a student...
He married a girl from Peru last year who is also a international student.
We were told there is some type of visa we can get her so she can travel to Canada with him whenever they want. (It is difficult to apply for a regular visa because she has to show all the finances of her student visa sponsor)
But I can’t find any information.
They would like the option to come up for summers or visits.

Just to add to my post above, all she can apply for at this time is a TRV (regular visitor visa).

Your son can apply to sponsor her for permanent residency and once she is a PR, she will be able to travel to Canada freely. However this process will take about a year to complete. Also, for the application to be accepted, your son will need to show proof that they both plan to move to Canada and live here (not just visit) once PR is approved.
