Canadian PR Parents and Child born in US

My wife and I received our Canadian PR in 2019 and we are scheduled to move to Canada next month (didn't move earlier due to Covid). We recently had a baby that was born in the US and is not a Canadian PR. I will be applying for my child's PR sponsorship when we are in Canada. Will there by any immigration issues when we land in Canada? My assumption is that our Child can enter with a US passport since he is from a visa exempt country and we can then apply for his sponsorship. Has anyone encountered this situation and did you have any issues? Thanks in advance.

Shouldn't be any issues at all. Your baby can enter Canada on the US passport.

Thank you for the quick reply. Thinking a bit further down the road, will I be able to extend my child's visitor visa after the 6 month period while I wait for his PR? (Current processing time shows as 18 months to sponsor a dependent child). Thanks.

Yes. It will be no issue with a PR application in progress.
