Canadian Grandparent

My American husband's grandpa was born in Saskatchewan and moved to the US as a teenager and eventually became a dual citizen according to my husband's parents. Can my husband apply to be a Canadian citizen as a result of his grandpa supposedly being Canadian? Ironically enough I am Canadian myself but can't get my husband citizenship since we don't live in Canada and don't ever plan to. Most likely your husband is not a Canadian citizen. Citizenship is generally only passed on to the first generation born abroad. However there is some small chance he could be. Repost your question to the Citizenship section of the forum and provide all of the following information: husband's birth date, parent's birth date, grandparent's birth date, if your husband's parent ever sought or confirmed their own Canadian citizenship and when that happened.
