I did my 4 years undergraduate in Ontario with valid study permit. Immediately after that I enrolled in a 2 years Master's program (in which I am also considered as a full-time graduate research assistant)...and I get a stipend/non-taxable salary for the full-time (>30 hours per week) research work but I am under study permit. I am in the second year of the of master's program which means I have gained 1 year of "work experience". But this "work experience" was gained with study permit. I understand from some previous posts in this forum that the work experience must have been gained after the applicant's graduation from a post-secondary institution. In my case, I did graduate from a post-secondary institution (Bachelors) and am doing masters now with full-time research assistant status. So would this "work experience" qualify me CEC? Has anyone else been in this scenario???

Before January 2, 2013, under prior program rules, some graduate students successfully exploited this loophole, others were not successful.
Any information on this forum dated earlier than Jan 2, 2013 is no longer valid. The rules have changed, and as long as you are a full-time student, the work experience will not qualify.
