Hello,
on the application guide IMM 7000 http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG72.asp
I found the following info:
Use the following table to determine how many points you will be awarded for your test scores with the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP):........
Could you please explain how I can get the idea of the calculation of the points awarded for my English. What does it mean 4,5,6?
Thank you in advance.
i think they are different bands of score for the CELPIP. Are you doing the CELPIP instead of the IELTS.
I am doing IELTS.
So CELPIP - is a totally different test system? is it easier than IELTS?
its a different test. dont know if its difficult or not but i believe it can only be taken in canada.
Hi Suin,
I took both tests and I found CELPIP to be much easier than IELTS. The main difference is, CELPIP is computer based and IELTS is pen/paper (at least at the center I wrote). Secondly, There's no interview in CELPIP but rather, a picture pops up on the screen and you describe what is going on in the scene. Everything is recorded. The center I wrote IELTS, a cassette recorder was used and you listened and answered the questions, whilst CELPIP, a headphone is connected to the computer for the listening part. Moreover, the CELPIP was straight without interruption, but for IELTS, there was a 2-hour break after the test for the interview. The funny thing is I ended up sending the IELTS because I got the same score on both tests. But b4 making a decision see other peoples opinion. Good luck
