Canadian education

Hello. I am in the process of applying for my Express Entry and I have a question regarding the education section. I have Canadian education, I was enrolled in a 2 year diploma in 2014 and graduated in 2016. After my graduation I have worked for 3 years. Last year, I have gone back to school. I was enrolled in a 3 year Advanced Diploma in a different college but I was awarded exceptions for 2 years which led me to complete only 1 year of studies. I have recently completed my studies and I am confused on how to explain my education on the application. In my case, do I select the 3 or more year program option and extend the date of my first education by 1 year and provide a letter of explanation?
